Scuba diving

The scuba courses at the Obermenzinger Gymnasium follow PADI guidelines.
PADI is the world's largest diving organisation and its diving certifications are valid worldwide. You can train to be anything from a novice diver to a Divemaster.

Stefan Mula is the official diving instructor for all the schools of the Münchner Schulstiftung.

Scuba diving excursions organised by the Münchner Schulstiftung offer a once-in-a-lifetime experience for those interested in marine biology or marine archaeology. In past years, our young divers have travelled to exotic destinations such as Sardinia, Croatia, Réunion and Thailand. Training dives take place here in our local lakes, with regular trips to the Starnberger See.

The Young Adventure Divers programme is an important part of school life here at the Obermenzinger Gymnasium, which is one of very few schools in the world to have integrated scuba diving into its curriculum.

On 7 March 2004 the Obermenzinger Gymnasium's diving group – the Young Adventure Divers – conducted the world's first underwater reading at Munich's Nordbad public swimming pool. They nearly made it into the Guinness Book of Records ...

Golf/Tennis

Another special feature of our school is our qualified golf instruction. We are proud that our pupils often put in an excellent showing at the Bavarian School Golf Championships.

We also offer tennis. Children gain valuable experience by working with a competent tennis coach. Even the youngest pupils are able to play using child-sized rackets.

Basketball

The Basketball AG started in school year 2010/11. Members play either the sport hall or on our outdoor basketball court, depending on the weather.

In school year 2015/16, the Basketball AG plays on Fridays from 4.00 to 5.30 p.m.

Football – Soccer 5

The Soccer 5 AG plays on Mondays from 4.00 to 5.30 p.m.

Open sport

Several days a week pupils have the opportunity to play football, table tennis and other games in the school sport hall.
